Sixth up it’s P.A.M enthusiast/queen of the w-office, Sadaf. This lady has been a part of the team for years now and is the brains behind many a creative project here at Good As Gold. A whiz with words, a dab hand with a Canon, and she’s the one to thank for photographing the heap of cool shit we have on a daily. Away from the office, you’ll find her hanging out with daughter Olive or creating jewellery/something equally as impressive. Cheers Sads, we lurrrve ya!

Name a person within a creative industry (or not) who doesn’t find something oddly satisfying about paper and card. The above photographs (from AS & Co) show the famous paper trading company Takeo in their high-white showroom, with over 9000 kinds of Japanese paper hidden away in what can only be described as cabinets for walls.

This recently born love child is kind of a big deal. I mean it’s not everyday one of your own flees the nest for the world of international fashion (invited). Yes, that is exactly what happened to Kiwi designer Teresa Hodge (more commonly known for BLAK labels, Basics and Luxe) when global chain-store TOPSHOP approached the designer with a position within their consignment store on Oxford Circus, London. With both of her existing labels being priced a little too high for the chain, it was here that BLAK LOVE was born, with the use of high quality fabrics and mega work from her team.
Fifth in line for Staff Picks it’s our very own Andy Sales. He has the answers to all of our denim-related-shit here at GOOD AS GOLD. When asked to say a few words about his little old self, he says he’s ‘like the best or at least as close to it as anyone reading this is going to get’. Enough already, here’s Andy’s mash up.

SCHOOL FOR BIRDS
Mod Love is the fresh new single from Andy’s pals School For Birds. Mahuia and Sean who form the duo, grew up on different sides of the tracks, nerds with a hankering for music (kinda like Starsky and Hutch, but in the school of Orchestra), each trying in his own way to be free. It was years later (when the guys remet at an amateur midnight choir) they decided that together they would create music for the world. Take a listen and more importantly watch, the vid is stunning work from Claire Littler, an ode to brazen Summers, past and future.
